This Grimsby, Ontario native received her Bachelor of Music, Honours in Voice Performance at Brock University in St. Catharine's Ontario (2006), where she also received the Eunice Leahey Memorial Bursary, the A.
Whitmore Griffin Scholarship and the Sir Isaac Brock Music Scholarship,
awarded for academic excellence, outstanding achievement and
exceptional performance ability in singing.
She has been a featured soloist, ensemble member and recording artist
with many choruses and opera companies/programs in Canada and
Europe. Her most notable performances include singing at the Stratford
Festival, the Ontario Provincial Competition (McMaster University),
Brock University events including over 250 convocations, Museo Renata
Tebaldi (Busseto, Italy), Casa Verdi (Milano, Italy), Koerner Hall
(Toronto) and with Opera Niagara at Jeanne Lamon Hall (Toronto) and in
Niagara. Jennifer continues to study with Dr. Maria Vetere of Niagara
Falls, and received dramatic coaching from Mark Verzatt of Yale
University. She was recognized by Maestro Richard Bonynge as one of the
most lovely voices of Operavision 2015.
When Jennifer is not devoting time to her love of opera, you'll likely find her passing on her love of music to her private students, as the conductor
of the Chorus Niagara Intermediate and Training Choirs and as a music
specialist, teaching Grades K-8 at Cairn Christian Schools in Stoney Creek
and Smithville. She resides in Niagara on the Lake with her husband Brian
and her two children, Lexi and Kalam.
